ToggleHave you always wanted to be successful in your life?
To be part of those successful people that everyone looks at with awe? You know the ones—they seem to have it all together, moving forward with confidence. Well, I’m here to tell you, becoming successful doesn’t happen overnight. But there are common habits and mindsets that successful people share, and if you start adopting even one of them, I promise you’ll start to see changes in your life.
Success looks different for everyone, but the journey is universal. Wherever you are on your journey, these habits will help move you forward.
1. Go out of your comfort zone
You stop growing when you get too comfortable. To move forward, you’ve got to push yourself out of the familiar and start taking initiative.
For me, one of the biggest ways I left my comfort zone was moving to another country. I had this gut feeling that I needed to leave my country, but I had no idea where to go or what my life would look like on the other side. Still, I broke up with my ex, applied for a Work Holiday visa, and made the leap to Montréal. It changed my life forever.
But you don’t have to start with something so big. It can be as simple as having a date with yourself if you’re always surrounded by people, or talking to someone new at a party. Maybe try a new food instead of sticking to your usual spaghetti bolognese, or go for a walk if you never work out.
No matter how big or small, stepping out of your comfort zone will always bring growth. Staying in the same place, doing the same things, only holds you back. Life is meant to be lived, not just endured. Take risks—you’re alive, after all. Why wait?
2. Keep learning
For a long time, I thought that after school, I’d be done with learning. But the thing is, learning doesn’t stop after high school or university—it’s one of the most important things you can do in your life.
Learning today doesn’t have to be boring. It’s not like sitting in a classroom all day. There are so many resources available that make learning fun. From TikTok (yes, you can learn a lot on TikTok!) to YouTube, apps, or museums, there’s always something new to explore.
Challenge yourself to learn something every day—no matter how small.
3. Network
I’m not going to lie, this one was a hard habit for me to build. As an introvert, networking feels awkward and uncomfortable, but it’s way more important than we give it credit for.
Meeting new people is intimidating, but the opportunities it brings are worth it. Whether it’s a new job, a fresh perspective, or even a lifelong friendship, you never know what you’ll gain. So the next time you’re in an elevator, at a bar, or an event, strike up a conversation—you never know where it could lead.
4. Learn to manage your time
We all struggle with time management. And if you’re like me, you might not realize just how much time you’re spending scrolling on social media. I’m guilty of it too—Instagram and TikTok are a constant in my life. But I’ve learned that if I don’t set boundaries with my screen time, my entire day disappears.
I’m still working on this one myself, but setting an app limit has been a game changer for me. Try it for a week, and you’ll be surprised at how much time you’ll free up for things that actually matter.
5. Set your dream goals (omg this is my favorite part!!)
I love setting goals. I have a whole Dream Big page on Notion where I lay out all my biggest dreams and goals. Every year, I pick one or two goals to focus on, and then I break them down into smaller, actionable steps.
I look at my goals every year and rework them to make sure they still align with who I am. And trust me, you don’t need some fancy analysis to set your goals. You just need to follow your heart and start small.
6. Maintain discipline
Okay, full honesty here—discipline isn’t my strong suit. I’m the queen of starting things and never finishing them. But I’m working on it.
Here’s how you can make discipline easier: Start by making your habits obvious. Set reminders, lay out your workout clothes the night before, or schedule your time blocks. Next, make it attractive—pair the habit with something you enjoy, like listening to a podcast while you run. The easier you make it, the more likely you’ll stick with it.
Lastly, celebrate your progress, no matter how small. The satisfaction of seeing improvement—even in tiny steps—keeps you motivated to keep going. Discipline isn’t about perfection; it’s about showing up every day, even when it’s hard.

7. Focus on the positive
It’s easy to get discouraged when things don’t happen right away. It’s harder to push yourself out of a comfortable situation than one that’s miserable, right?
Success is built on small victories. Celebrate them, even when they seem tiny. They’ll keep you going when things get tough.

Remember, nothing has to be perfect. Just start with one small habit, add another as you go, and watch how your life shifts. You’ve got this! See you next time for another Soulution!
